Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Leah Hofmann, who is starring in Big Fish- currently playing at the Neil SimonTheatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

Bombay Dreams. It was my very first trip to New York City, and Neil Shastri, a young friend from my hometown of St. Louis was playing the little boy in this new Broadway show. What more could a gal ask for... A friend in the show, a thorough backstage tour and a fantastical water scene at the end of Act One!

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

It's meeting up with my fabulous Big Fish castmate Angie Schworer at our corner Duane Reade as we purchase our dressing room snacks for the day. Thank God candy corn is in season.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

I do recall performing in My One and Only one summer at the St. Louis Muny Opera, where I was naturally featured wearing a skirt entirely made of fake bananas. Of course, the weight of the skirt got the best of me one evening, and as if on cue, the skirt completely fell to my feet when I made my solo entrance. All I remember is shimmying to disguise my embarrassment while Ken Page filled the awkward pause with a sensible, witty comment. I think I did manage though to receive an honorable mention in the Post-Dispatch review as "the dancing banana."

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

'Louise' in Gypsy or 'Puck' in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Who is your Broadway crush?

Hamish Linklater. Did you all catch his stellar performance in Comedy of Errors this summer in the park? And even better... it was Hamish times two!

Where can people stalk you online?

Well, I'm about to launch my new website at www.LeahHofmann.com, but in the meantime, follow me, Big Fish, and my Etch-A-Sketch art at @elleetchysketchyart on Instagram. Enjoy!!
