Stage & Screen Star Carol Burnett to Receive SAG Life Achievement Award

Nominees for the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding individual, cast and ensemble performances in film and television of 2015, as well as the nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning at the Pacific Design Center's SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood. During the announcements, it was revealed that Carol Burnett will be the recipient of the 52nd Annual SAG Life Achievement Award.

Burnett was last seen on Broadway in the revival of Love Letters. Her CBS variety show, THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW ran from 1967 to 1978 and won Burnett and the team numerous Emmy and Golden Globe awards. Following the variety show, Burnett starred in the films PETE 'N' TILLIE, THE FOUR SEASONS, ANNIE, NOISES OFF and more.

Burnett made her Broadway debut in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS in 1959, followed by FADE OUT - FADE IN, MOON OVER BUFFALO, PUTTING IT TOGETHER and HOLLYWOOD ARMS. She received a special Tony Award in 1969.

The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented by SAG-AFTRA with Screen Actors Guild Awards, LLC will be produced by Avalon Harbor Entertainment, Inc. and will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT). TBS and TNT subscribers can also watch the SAG Awards live through the networks' websites and mobile apps. In addition, TNT will present a primetime encore of the ceremony immediately following the live presentation.
