As news broke Monday that the Walt Disney Co. would purchase Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion the Internet flared up with speculation and wonderment. Could Pixar team up with Marvel and produce a string of eye-popping action films? After all, the deal will bring upwards of 5,000 Marvel characters under the Disney umbrella. A Mickey Mouse and Iron Man buddy flick? Perhaps this new teaming could save the fledgling Spider-Man musical currently in development hell.

One of the best responses to this Disney/Mavel news came out of “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.” Writers on the late-night show whipped up some inspired artwork imagining what new animated characters could emerge from the new team. If NBC writers ran the world moviegoers might be able to witness such characters as Gooferine, The Incredible Duck and Thingerella.
