The off-Broadway spectacular Slava's Snowshow has earned the best weekly box-office gross of its 16-month run, taking in $246,039 last week at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street).

Producer Ross Mollison said today, "While Broadway attracts around 60% of its audiences from outside New York, tourists only account for 25% of our audience. So, it is the people of New York coming to the show in the thousands. Thank you New York for making Snowshow a hit!"

Created by the internationally acclaimed Russian clown Slava Polunin, Slava's Snowshow is a "magical theatrical experience that melds the unbridled hilarity, and the unexpected poignancy, of the art of clowning with stunning spectacle and awe-inspiring visual images and fantasy, culminating in a heart-stopping snowstorm that engulfs the entire audience." Slava's Snowshow, which is performed by an ensemble of clowns, has been seen in over 80 cities around the world. Angelina Jolie, Jimmy Fallon, Scarlett Johannson and Josh Hartnett are recent visitors to the off-Broadway production.
