A new, re-imagined production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, inspired by Stephen Vincent Benet's The Sobbin' Women and the 1954 Stanley Donen-directed film, will enjoy a run at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. The show, featuring several new songs, will run April 11—May 13 as part of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts' New Jersey American Masterpiece series. The show will then tour to Theater Under the Stars in Houston and North Shore Music Theatre in Massachusetts.

Seven Brides for Brothers is the story of a man living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness, who convinces a girl to marry him before she can find out he lives with his six brothers in a log cabin. While she makes plans to reform the unruly brothers, they make plans to get wives of their own, with a very unconventional method of doing so.
