Enjoy the special Disney magic in the intimate setting of the Seacoast Repertory Theatre where audiences young and old are sure to be thrilled as one of the most enchanting love stories ever told vibrantly comes to life on the SRT stage for the holidays. Join this magical cast lead by Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts, Chip and Beast as their enchanted world collides with Gaston, LeFou in there small "provincial" town where Belle and her father just don't fit in.

Based on the Walt Disney Pictures full length animated film which went on to win Academy Awards for Best Song and Best Original Score by Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman the film made history as the first animated feature ever nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. When the decision was made to actually bring it to the Broadway stage the creative team crafted a timeless story with roots deep in classic fairy tale, filled with humor, magic mystery, romance and suspense. The Oscar winning score was then not only expanded by Menken, but lyricist Tim Rice added several new songs for this new stage version. To date…Beauty and the Beast is the 7
th longest running musical in the history of Broadway - nominated for nine 1994 Tony Awards including Best musical this eye popping spectacle had been thrilling audiences worldwide with record breaking runs in London, Los Angeles, Toronto Sydney and Tokyo and of Course New York!

SRT's production is placed in the capable hands of Ms. Kate Swan who will be making her SRT directorial debut with this production. Swan has been involved with Beauty and the Beast for 11 years first as member of the original Broadway cast and then traveling nationally and internationally mounting production as well as currently serving as the Production Supervisor to the Broadway production. Musical Direction will be by William Asher, with Scenic Design by Michael Minahan, and Lighting Design by Aaron Hutto.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast runs on the Seacoast Repertory Theatre Mainstage at 125 Bow Street in downtown Portsmouth, NH from December 10, 2004 - January 9, 2005 with showtimes Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm & 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.
