By: BWW News Desk Dec. 15, 2005
Fresh from its award-winning run at the New York International Fringe
Festival, SUV: The Musical! will open on Jan. 5 at the Wings Theatre on
154 Christopher Street.
The first-ever anti-SUV theatrical production, SUV: The Musical! is a "timeless love story. The plot follows hero environmentalist Max Blank as he takes on the entrenched interests, a double-dealing Saudi sheik, and two randy crash test dummies to foil Behemoth Motor's plot to destroy America and falls in love with evil SUV designer Dick Johnson's wife!," state press notes.
"But does Max end up with Sarah? Does the new Behemoth Destroyer revive America's flagging auto industry? Does Saudi ambassador Bindar al-Subhai al-Mohammad al-Quarzi succeed in driving up oil prices to $5-per-gallon? And, most important, do the Crash Test Dummies find true love? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll scrawl graffiti all over the next SUV you see!"
SUV: The Musical! is written by Gersh Kuntzman and Marc Dinkin, and directed by Eric Oleson.Tickets, which are $22 ($18 for preview), can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2694. For more information, visit www.suvthemusical.com
