Mind The Art Entertainment is set to present the raunchy spoken word musical Story Time with Mr. Buttermen: Fables for Adults Living in a Modern World at the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival this August, running from August 10th through 25th at HERE Arts Center.

A multi-arts, spoken word musical of original fables for adults taken from Mind The Art's poetry book of the same title, the show was originally conceived by Mind The Art Entertainment Artistic Director Christian De Gré and features music by De Gré and American singer-songwriter and jingle writer Jake Holmes (who composed the US Army recruitment jingle "Be All That You Can Be" in the late 1970s as well as the hit 1960's song "Dazed & Confused").

Audience members at Story Time with Mr. Buttermen: Fables for Adults Living in a Modern World will join the class of the beloved Mr. Buttermen (a wonderfully disturbed man who lives in the park) as he leads us on a journey of depravity and learning. His fables teach us the importance of being a moral adult in the modern world, with classic stories such as The Girl Who Cried Rape, Pigmailman and Petey the Impotent Rabbit. Don't miss the opportunity to once again giggle like a school child. (NOTE: Peeing your pants in the theatre is still frowned upon).

The cast will feature Anthony M. Lopez as Mr. Buttermen; Ashley C. Williams (star of the cult horror film The Human Centipede); Joe Kurtz, Justin Ansemli and Robert Moreira (from Die: Roll to Proceed); Jesse Tendler, Erika Cazeneuve, Anabel Franklin, Sri Gordon, Mara Lileas, Chuk Obasi, Shayna Schmidt, Elizabeth Wharton and Nathan Winkelstein. Christian De Gré will serve as Director and Executive Producer with AaRon Butler as Musical Director and Paula Wilson as Choreographer. Jesse Tendler, Ana Lucia Souza and Ariana Paganetti are producing the show with Designers Marciel Greene, Gretchen Van Lente, Scout Isensee and Elias "Uva" Diaz.

The show will also feature original written works from Jake Holmes, Christian De Gré, David Williams, Joe Kurtz, Ariana Paganetti, Joseph Reese Anderson and Lauren Brady. The show previously premiered at La Mama E.T.C. in 2011 as part of La Mama E.T.C. Presents: A Mind The Art Anthology, Volume II. This spoken word musical marks the 4th production by Mind The Art Entertainment at the New York International Fringe Festival in four years. Its last production, The Timing of a Day, won the Excellence in Ensemble award and subsequently moved Off-Broadway last season to rave reviews.

Story Time with Mr. Buttermen: Fables for Adults Living in a Modern World will run from August 10th through August 25th at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue) with performances on Fri. 8/10 at 5:15pm, Sun. 8/12 at 9:45pm, Wed. 8/15 at 6pm, Thur 8/16 at 9pm and Sat. 8/25 at 2pm.
