Lucy Karczewski, who starred as Diana in the West End production of Stereophonic, will make her television debut in a continuation of Peaky Blinders for Netflix and the BBC, now led by actor Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby.

Also confirmed to join the cast are Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Industry), Jessica Brown Findlay (Harlots, Downton Abbey), and Lashana Lynch (Matilda the Musical, The Day of the Jackal). Details of their roles will be announced at a later date.

With writer and creator Steven Knight back at the helm, the two new series are set ten years after the events of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man and World War Two. They pick up in the 1950s when "the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions."

The series features the next generation of the Shelby family, with Duke Shelby, the son of Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby, at its center. Bell takes on the role from Conrad Khan and Barry Keoghan, both of whom played the character previously.

At six episodes each, the two series are being filmed in and around Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, and, upon release, will be available via the BBC in the UK and on Netflix globally.

In the years since the original series launched on BBC Two in 2013, Peaky Blinders has become a phenomenon, with accolades that include the 2018 BAFTA for Best Drama Series. The recent film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, launched on Netflix in March.

Karczewski recently starred as Diana in the West End production of Stereophonic, which ran at the Duke of York's Theatre in 2025. She won the Stage Debut Award for Best Performer in a Play for her performance. Previous stage credits include The Seagull at the Barbican Theatre.
