2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award® Recipient Dallas Theater Center presents the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, HAIR, directed by Enloe/Rose Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. Performances begin on Friday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. and will run through Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Potter Rose Performance Hall. Opening Night is announced for Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to HAIR are on sale now at www.DallasTheaterCenter.org and by phone at (214) 880-0202.

"I'm excited to be directing the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical HAIR at Dallas Theater Center during the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love," said Moriarty. "HAIR is a groundbreaking musical that radiates with free love and iconic songs, and is just as daring today as it was in 1967. DTC's production will take full advantage of the flexible Wyly Theatre by providing an immersive experience for the audience to express themselves through art and let the sunshine in from their seats in bean bag chairs, couches and other unique seating options."

50 years after its premiere, HAIR continues to assault the status quo, while shining a bright light on the power of love over hate, peace over war, freedom over repression, and hope over despair. At once emblematic of its era and relevant for a new generation of audiences today, the story follows a group of young people as they navigate their relationships with their country and with each other. Overflowing with free love, buzzing with youthful energy, and pulsing with iconic rock anthems, DTC's HAIR brings the Age of Aquarius into the twenty-first century.

The cast is made up of Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company Members Ace Anderson (INHERIT THE WIND, Public Works Dallas THE TEMPEST, A CHRISTMAS CAROL 2016) as Hud and Tiana Kaye Johnson (HOOD: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure, ELECTRA, A CHRISTMAS CAROL 2016) as Sheila. In addition, the cast includes Monique Abry as Crissy, Kia Nicole Boyer as Jeanie, Jaime Cepero (Ellis on NBC'S SMASH) as Claude, Ayanna Edwards (DREAMGIRLS) as Dionne, Chris Peluso (London's MISS SAIGON and SHOW BOAT, Broadway's BEAUTIFUL, MAMMA MIA, ASSASSINS, LESTAT) as Berger and Christopher Llewyn Ramirez (HOOD: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure) as Woof. The Tribe is made up of Kevin Curtis (the national tour of A CHORUS LINE), Joey Donoian, Kelsey Leigh Ervi, Kyle Igneczi, Valton Jackson, Quintin Jones Jr., Laura Lites, Taylor Nash, Mayte Natalio and Gabrielle Reyes (BELLA: An American Tall Tale, DREAMGIRLS).

Jo Winiarski will design the HAIR set in this fully-immersive, only-at-the-Wyly production that will be set in the round. Surrounded by actors and sitting in various unique seating options, audience members will enjoy the familiar songs of Hair like "Aquarius" with music direction and supervision by Vonda K. Bowling (Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure, Public Works Dallas The Tempest, The Christians); sound design by Broken Chord (Electra, A Christmas Carol 2016, Deferred Action) and lighting design by Seth Reiser. The creative team of HAIR also includes choreography by Ann Yee (Public Works Dallas The Tempest) and costume design by Karen Perry (Miller, Mississippi; Dreamgirls; A Raisin in the Sun). Wig design is by J. Jared Janas (Bella: An American Tall Tale, Dreamgirls) and Dave Bova (Electra, Bella: An American Tall Tale, Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical).

To allow the audience to select their preferred seating option, HAIR is General Admission by price area with "Area 1" seats as close to the action as possible and the farthest "Area 4" seat no more than 55 feet from the story. Audience members are encouraged to enter the Wyly Theatre 30 minutes before the performance to experience a one-of-a-kind, never duplicated "happening" as a part of the pre-show experience.
