SING ALONG with Alice Ripley & Heidi Blickenstaff to be Screened in L.A. this Week

By:

"Sing Along," the short film musical starring an all-Broadway cast, will have a three-day theatrical run in Los Angeles this week. The movie was filmed in New York City in October 2012 and had its East Coast premiere in April of this year.

The short caught the attention of the Broadway community due to its all-star cast including Tony winner Alice Ripley ("Next to Normal"), Myles Erlick ("Billy Elliot"), Heidi Blickenstaff ("[title of show]"), Uzo Aduba ("Godspell"), Remy Zaken ("Spring Awakening"), Cass Christopher and Patrick Page (both from "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark"). Sam Tsui, a YouTube celebrity whose collective videos have been viewed over 400 million times, also stars.

Set in Midtown Manhattan, "Sing Along" follows a young Broadway fan who deals with mild agoraphobia by imagining the world as a musical. But his creative nature distracts him from his schoolwork, which provides his naysayer mother an opportunity to squash his dreams before they can be pursued.

The movie was written and directed by Mark Oxman, executive produced by Charles Salameno (producer of "Cinderella" and "A Trip to Bountiful"), with music by husband/wife duo, Ron Wasserman and Kathy Fisher.

Broadway fans in Los Angeles can purchase tickets at http://www.laemmle.com/films/37536 or at the box office of Laemmle's Monica 4-Plex in Santa Monica. Showtimes are 12:15pm and 12:55pm on September 24, 25, and 26. The film's trailer can be viewed on its official website, http://www.singalongmovie.com.
