Ryan, Monk Featured In PAGE 73 On Page 73 Benefit At 92 Y Tribeca 6/22

PAGE 73, a non-profit theater company that develops and produces exclusively the work of early-career playwrights who have yet to receive substantial production opportunities in New York City, will present "Page 73 on Page 73" on Monday, June 22 at the 92 Y Tribeca (200 Hudson Street) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit Page 73's development programs - the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, Page 73's summer residency at Yale and Interstate 73, Page 73's writing group for early-career playwrights.

"Page 73 on Page 73" will feature a collage of page 73's from the plays, movies and musicals that inspired PAGE 73's writers to write for the stage. The evening is directed by Hal Brooks ("No Child..." by Nilaja Sun and "Thomas Paine: Based on Nothing" by Will Eno). Performers who will be features in Page 73 on Page 73 are Peter Bartlett, Mike Doyle, Matt McGrath, Debra Monk, and Amy Ryan. Tickets are still available for $100 and $200 at www.p73.org/benefit.

PAGE 73 develops and produces the work of early-career playwrights who have yet to receive substantial production opportunities in New York City or wide public acknowledgment. PAGE 73's programs usher the work of early-career playwright from initial draft to production-ready script and introduce new and untried writers to New york City audiences and other non-profit theaters and producers. PAGE 73's principal programs are: the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, a year-long program that provides financial, career and development support to one playwright; "Interstate 73", a writing group composed of six early-career playwrights who meet regularly to discuss and work on their new plays; the Page 73 Summer Residency @ Yale, a week-long summer residency on the Yale campus for three to four early-career playwrights; and a world or New York premiere of a new play by an early-career playwright.

Playwrights and writers who have worked with Page 73 are, among many, Peter Ackerman, Janet Allard, Eliza Clark, Michael Friedman, Karen Hartman, Julia Jordan, Krista Knight (2007 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Dan LeFranc, Kenneth Lin, Kirsten Greendige (2004 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Jason Grote (2006 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Quiara Alegria Hudes (2005 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Heidi Schreck (2009 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Tommy Smith (2008 P73 Playwriting Fellow), Victoria Stewart & Gary Sunshine.

PAGE 73 developed and produced the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist "Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue" by Quiara Alegria Hudes (directed by Davis McCallum) and produced the New York premiere of "1001" by Jason Grote (directed by Ethan McSweeny) (TIME OUT - NY Top 10 2007). This year, PAGE 73 produced with Soho Rep "Sixty Miles to Silver Lake" by Dan LeFranc (directed by Anne Kauffman). In the fall, Page 73 will produce with New Georges the world premiere of "Creature" by Heidi Schreck (directed by Leigh Silverman).
