Roundabout Will Open 50th Anniversary Season with Harold Pinter's OLD TIMES; Oscar Nominee Clive Owen to Star!

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the Broadway season opener for Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season: Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee Clive Owen will make his Broadway debut in Old Times by Harold Pinter, directed by Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge.

"In planning our 50th anniversary season it was important to me to include a play by one of the most influential modern dramatists: Harold Pinter," notes artistic director Todd Haimes. "My first season with Roundabout included Old Times, our first Broadway season opened with The Homecoming and we opened the first Laura Pels Theatre with Moonlight. It is with great joy that we open our 50th season with Harold Pinter, and welcome Clive for his Broadway debut."

Old Times will begin preview performances on Thursday, September 17, 2015, and open officially on Thursday, October 15, 2015 on Broadway.

Clive Owen is an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner for his role as Larry in Patrick Marber's Closer directed by Mike Nichols. He is also an acclaimed stage actor with roles including Romeo & Juliet at the Young Vic, Noel Coward's Design for Living directed by Sean Mathias at the Donmar Warehouse, the world? premiere production of Closer at the Royal National Theater, and Peter Nichols' A Day in the Death of Joe Egg directed by Lawrence Boswell at the New Ambassadors Theatre. He's currently in New York shooting season 2 of Steven Soderbergh's The Knick, for which he recently received a Best Actor Golden Globe nomination.

Douglas Hodge is an Olivier? and Tony Award?winning actor who appeared as Cyrano in Roundabout Theatre Company's critically acclaimed 2012 Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Known as a premiere interpreter of Harold Pinter's plays, Douglas has performed in No Man's Land, Moonlight, A Kind of Alaska, The

2 Lover, The Collection, Betrayal, The Caretaker. He currently plays Inspector Rusk in season two of "Penny

Dreadful," opposite Eva Green and Josh Hartnett.

Clive Owen makes his Broadway debut in Old Times, the unsettling drama of desire and blurred realities by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. Owen is Deeley, a man quite looking forward to meeting Anna, his wife Kate's friend from long ago. But as the night goes on, Anna's visit quickly shifts from an ordinary sharing of memories to a quiet battle for power. Douglas Hodge, a frequent performer and director of Pinter's works, directs the haunting and passionate revival.

Roundabout has a longstanding relationship with Harold Pinter, having produced ten productions of his work since 1971, including: The Caretaker starring Patrick Stewart, Kyle MacLachlan and Aidan Gillen (2003); Betrayal starring Juliette Binoche, Liev Schreiber and John Slattery (2000), which received a Tony Award nomination for Best Revival of a Play; the American premiere of Ashes to Ashes starring Lindsay Duncan and David Strathairn (1999); the American premiere of Moonlight starring Jason Robards and Blythe Danner (1995); No Man's Land starring Christopher Plummer and Jason Robards (1994); The Homecoming starring Roy Dotrice and Lindsay Crouse (1991); Old Times starring Jane Alexander, Anthony Hopkins and Marsha Mason (1984); The Caretaker (1982 and 1973); and The Lover (1972).
