By:

The colorful paintings of Rose Jefferson will be featured in the Harris Corporation Art Gallery at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts as she presents "Eclectic Me" from February 2nd - March 1st. This solo exhibition will feature approximately 20 pieces of expressive and eclectic works of art representing Black History month. The exhibit may be viewed by ticketed patrons attending King Center main stage performances. All of the artwork will be available for purchase.

Ms. Jefferson will facilitate a hands-on seminar with over 30 local middle school students that will provoke and inspire their interests in visual arts. The class is open to a previously arranged school.

Her artwork has been exhibited throughout the country, primarily at invitational and juried shows in Florida and Georgia. Last year, she was chosen by Governor and First Lady Rick Scott as featured artist for Florida's Black History Month. Her painting entitled "Flowers in the Garden" was selected to hang in the Governor's Mansion while ten of her paintings were on display in the R.A. Gray Building.

Rose is an active member of the Off Center Art Center art gallery in Melbourne FL. where some of her artworks can be viewed. She paints portraits and figures in the mediums of oil, acrylic, watercolor and also enjoys creating mixed media works of art.
