Remebering CY COLEMAN & Broadway: The American Musical on THEATER TALK

Friday, January 28 at midnight on Thirteen, THEATER TALK welcomes producer/director/writer Michael Kantor and writer/historian Laurence Maslon discussing their remarkable PBS documentary, BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL.

Also on this week's show, an interview with the late Cy Coleman. Taped in 1998, Coleman explains how he wrote music - ultimately for some of the most successful shows in Broadway history.

Performance clips on this week's show include "The Big Spender" number from the press preview of the 2005 revival of Coleman's SWEET CHARITY, as well as a wonderful out-take from BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL of Fred Ebb singing his lyrics for "Razzle Dazzle" from CHICAGO.
