According to Variety, Chris D'Arienzo, who wrote Broadway's ROCK OF AGES and its film adaptation, is currently at work on bringing Martin Scorsese's film THE KING OF COMEDY to the stage. D'Arienzo has also signed on with CAA.

The King of Comedy - directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Paul D. Zimmerman, produced by Arnon Milchan, and starring Robert De Niro, Jerry Lewis, Diahnne Abbott and Sandra Bernhard - was originally released in 1983. The film is recognized for its groundbreaking foresight into reality-TV culture and lack of distinction between renown and notoriety. It also holds up as the finest dramatic work of Lewis' career, one of Martin Scorsese's most underrated movies and a darkly funny film that features Robert De Niro playing the scary and fascinating character, Rupert Pupkin.

As previously reported, Glenn Close and Nick Nolte are currently attached to star in D'Arienzo's upcoming drama ALWAYS ON MY MIND, with Occupant Entertainment's Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino producing.

ALWAYS ON MY MIND follows an aging rock star with Alzheimer's (Nolte) and his wife (Close.)

D'Arienzo also wrote and directed the feature film Barry Munday (Patrick Wilson, Chloë Sevigny, Malcolm McDowell), which was an official selection at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and winner of the Newport Film Festival Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film-making.
