Primary Stages Presents Dorothy Strelsin Reading Series

By: Apr. 16, 2007

Primary Stages will present the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group and Fresk Ink Reading Series.

"A non-profit theatre company that not only finds new playwrights, develops their plays page by page, and then produces the work at a beautiful new 199 seat off-Broadway theatre on Manhattan's Upper East Side?  That is exactly what Primary Stages takes on with The Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group and Fresh Ink Reading Series," state press materials.

"Now in its 11th year, The Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group and Fresh Ink Reading Series brings together six to eight emerging and culturally diverse playwrights each season, who meet weekly to share newly created work and receive constructive feedback on the development of their work.  Since its inception, over 45 full-length plays have been written in the Group many of which have been produced by prominent local and national theaters including The Long Wharf, Blue Light, South Coast Repertory, The New Group, New York Stage and Film, Cherry Lane Theater, and of course, Primary Stages."
