Edge Theater Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Theater Workshop and Playwrights Horizons are some of the organizations that will take part in the 4th Annual Off-Broadway Blood Drive on June 11th.

The event will be held from 12:30pm-6pm at Playwrights Horizons, located in Manhattan at 416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. Organized in conjuction with the New York Blood Center, the event welcomes all members of the community to donate blood.

The New York Blood Center is one of the nation's largest, community-based blood collection and distribution organizations. Their mission is to collect 2,000 volunteer blood donations each day to support life-saving patient transfusion needs in close to 200 New York and New Jersey hospitals.

The minimum age to donate blood is 17 (or 16 in New York City with parents' signed permission slip), minimum weight is 110 pounds, and donors must be in generally good health and not have donated in prior 56 days. Donors must also meet all Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and state department of health donor eligibility criteria.
