Playhouse on the Green, a 54-year-old not-for-profit theater company in residence at a beautiful 228-seat jewel-box theater in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, CT, continues its 2008-2009 season of plays and musicals with Richard O'Brien's outrageous musical comedy The Rocky Horror Show, which runs for 10 performances only from October 24-November 8, 2008.
Since this sexy parody of horror and science fiction films premiered onstage in London in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show has become a rock 'n' roll musical phenomenon around the world, and now it is poised to take Bridgeport by storm! Featuring a Transylvanian transvestite, a cryogenically preserved motorbiker, and an untraditional version of Frankenstein's monster, Rocky Horror is perfect Halloween-time fun, whether you grew up doing "The Time Warp" or you've never experienced this classic kitsch. One special midnight performance takes place each week (see full performance schedule below).Matt Schicker is Producer. The Rocky Horror Show is directed and choreographed by Steven Smeltzer (Barnum - The Musical). Timothy Heavner is musical director and Jim DeVivo is leader of Bridgeport-area band Greasewheazer.
