The annual concert series was created in 2008 just a year after the loss of Gilana at the age of 26, by her brother David, a director in NYC. After three years at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, the concert moved downtown to the historic Joe's Pub, and to date has help raise nearly $50,000. The concert also serves as the platform to announce the annual recipients of Gilana's Fund.
