After ten years captivating audiences across the UK, Tim Rice's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical masterpiece Evita comes to the Belgrade Theatre this month in a spectacular new production from Bill Kenwright.

Following the massive success of Kenwright's The Sound of Music earlier this year, singing sensation Lucy O'Byrne returns to Coventry to lead a stellar cast including West End leading man Glenn Carter.

Having risen to fame after reaching the finals of The Voice UK in 2015, Lucy O'Byrne went on to play Fantine in the West End production of Les Misérables, before wowing audience in two tours of The Sound of Music, the second of which came to the Belgrade Theatre in February. This season, she will appear in Evita for the first time, taking on the coveted title role of actor turned "spiritual leader of a nation" Eva Perón.

Playing her on-stage husband, the Argentine director Juan Perón, is Mike Sterling, whose credits include the UK tour of High Society, as well as Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera for Cameron Mackintosh.

Known for his starring roles in Les Misérables and in both the stage and screen productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, award-winning performer Glenn Carter joins the cast as the revolutionary Ché, alongside Oscar Balmaseda as Magaldi and Cristina Hoey as Mistress.

Telling the moving true story of Eva Perón, Evita ranks as one of the best-loved stage musicals of all time, boasting more than 20 major awards and an Oscar-winning film adaptation starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas.

Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice, it features an array of instantly recognisable songs including Don't Cry for Me Argentina, On This Night of A Thousand Stars, You Must Love Me and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.

Evita is directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright, with design by Matthew Wright, sound design by Dan Samson and choreography by Bill Deamer.

Evita shows at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry from Tuesday 25 until Saturday 29 September. Tickets are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055, or visiting www.belgrade.co.uk where prices are even cheaper.
