Photo Flash: Inside Opening Night of Primary Stages' HIM
On Tuesday, October 9, Primary Stages (Executive Producer Casey Childs, Artistic Director Andrew Leynse, Managing Director Elliot Fox) continued their celebration of the Foote Family legacy at the opening night of HIM by Daisy Foote. This world-premiere production, the second of Primary Stages' 28th season, features Tony Award nominee HAllie Foote (Harrison, TX..., Dividing the Estate) Tim Hopper (Present Laughter, The Dying Gaul, Steppenwolf), Adam LeFevre (The Doctor's Dilemma), and ADINA VERSON (The Winter's Tale at Yale Rep). Helmed by Obie Award-winning director Evan Yionoulis (Three Days of Rain, Violet Hour), HIM runs September 25 - October 28 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.
Attendees at the opening night celebration at The Volstead, 125 E. 54th Street, included Devon Abner (Harrison, TX...), Mary Bacon (Harrison, TX..., Motherhood Out Loud), Tanya Barfield (playwright, The Call), Jeremy Bobb (Harrison, TX..., Is He Dead), Andrea Lynn Green (Harrison, TX..., Giant at Dallas Theatre Center), Tim Guinee (Twelvth Night, "Revolution," "Criminal Minds"), and playwright Willy Holtzman.
In the tradition of great American plays, Daisy Foote explores the institution of the American family in HIM. Two siblings struggling to keep the family store afloat must decide which is a priority: their father's final wishes or their financial stability. It's a choice that could tear them apart. HIM features a scenic design by Marion Williams, costume design by Teresa Snider-Stein, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and original music and sound design by Broken Chord.
