By:

Scott Coulter and Tim Di Pasqua with Lisa Asher (in for Tom Andersen, who was ill) performed the award-winning show, "Southern Comfort: A Down-Home Country Music Jamboree," on Friday, August 3 at 7:30PM at The Metropolitan Room (34 W. 22nd St).  The trio sang classic and contemporary country tunes, including hits by Vince Gill, George Jones, Alan Jackson, k.d. lang and Dolly Parton.

In April 2007, Andersen, Coulter and Di Pasqua received the Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Group and won the 2007 Nightlife Award for Outstanding Revue/Group.  "Southern Comfort" premiered at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City in August 2006.

Tom Andersen, a winner of five MAC Awards and five Bistro Awards, has headlined at Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, the Algonquin, and the Kennedy Center. He is a renowned songwriter, has three CDs and appeared off-Broadway (Cabariety). Scott Coulter received both the 2001 MAC and Bistro Awards as Male Vocalist, and the 2003 MAC Award for Recording of the Year for his self-titled CD. Coulter is a regular performer in "Broadway by the Year" series at Town Hall, and has toured with Stephen Schwartz. Tim Di Pasqua, a founder of the Third Eye Theatre, has won four Bistro Awards, including one for Outstanding Song ("One Thing"). Lisa Asher, MAC and Bistro Award winning soloist, appeared in the world premiere of Almost Heaven, John Denver's America, appeared off-Broadway in Woody Guthrie's American Song, and just released a new CD live recording of her successful show at New York's The Duplex.
