Photo Coverage: Sherie Rene Scott in 'You May Now Worship Me
On March 31st, 2008 Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS presented a one night only performance of You May Now Worship Me, a collection of musical short stories featuring Tony Award nominee Sherie Rene Scott at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre (230 West 49th Street). At the end of the evening a $200,00 check was presented to the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actor's Fund. The after-party was held at John's Pizzeria ( 260 W44th Street).
You May Now Worship Me is conceived and written by Tony Award nominee Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott, featuring direction by Tony Awardâ winner Michael Mayer, and musical direction by Tom Kitt.
"From her childhood in Topeka to her eventual rise to Broadway semi-star, this is her truth, her whole truth, and nothing but her truth
only better. Featuring songs made famous by such icons as Judy Garland, Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits, and Mr. Rogers, You May Now Worship Me reminds us that none of us are in Kansas anymore," explain press notes.
