Palm Beach Photographic Centre Celebrates Launch of Social Media Street Team & More

FOTOfusion, the popular five-day festival for amateur and professional photographers that will be held January 20-24 in downtown West Palm Beach, is being dedicated to female photographers and will include Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment, a National Geographic traveling exhibition. The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) is the presenting national tour sponsor of the exhibit that highlights the influential photography of 11 award-winning female journalists. FOTOfusion Scholarships For the first time, the Palm Beach Photographic Centre is offering FOTOfusion Scholarships for local college or university students that have a declared major in photography. The scholarship will provide each of the selected students with a GOLD Passport that will allow them to submit a portfolio for inclusion in the FOTOfusion Student Portfolio Exhibition. In addition, scholarship recipients will enjoy unlimited 100- and 600-series events, one 200-series FOTOshoot, one 300-series Computer Lab, one 400-series Master Workshop, six Portfolio Reviews and FREE admission all Fusion-Schmooze Parties, the PHOTOgraphic Technology Centre and the Centre's Gallery exhibitions. The scholarship does not include travel, lodging or meals. Interested photography majors can apply online by going to FOTOfusion.org.

Note: Applicants will need to provide a letter of recommendation from a professor at the student's college or university endorsing his/her participation in FOTOfusion. Social Media Street Team For the first time, the Palm Beach Photographic Centre is seeking internet-savvy volunteers to be part of a FOTOfusion Social Media Street Team. Participants will attend FOTOfusion community events and photograph, video, document, tag, engage, check in and/or share their view of the activities using social media platforms and pre-approved hash tags. Students will receive (4) volunteer hours per event. "We are seeking volunteers that will document FOTOfusion events with the internet of sharing high quality content while using our pre-approved hast-tags, such as #FOTOfusion, #FOTOfusion 2015, #pbphotocentre and #PBPCStreamTeam," said Ms. NeJame. "Volunteers will work independently to create their personal story of FOTOfusion events and share that story across the various social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr."
