The Council of Actors Equity Association announced the election of Paige Price to the position of First Vice President. Price was voted in a special order of business at the Equity Council Meeting held earlier today.

Price served on the Equity Council as a Principal Eastern Councillor since 2001 and as Vice Chair of the Eastern Regional Board for 2005-2006. She has been a member of the Production Contract Negotiating Team for both the 2000 and 2004 negotiations, and has been on the Eastern Production Contract Committee since 1998. Ms. Price has volunteered on numerous committees, including National Deputy Committee, the 198 and 2003 Nominating Committees, Entry to Equity National Committee, Membership Education/ Eastern Committee, and the Executive Director Search Committee.

"I am very pleased that Paige has been elected First Vice President," said Equity's President Mark Zimmerman. "Her dedication to the Union and the membership is evident through her tireless committee work. "

Her numerous theatrical credits include the Broadway productions of Saturday Night Live, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Beauty and the Beast and the pre-Broadway Busker Alley and the workshop production of Last Dance. Her most recent appearance has been in the tour of Beauty and the Beast as Babette. Other touring credits include Val in A Chorus Line and 42nd Street as Peggy. She wrote and starred in her one-woman show "THE Exfiles." In addition to appearing in the first season of the NBC hit "Ed," her numerous television and film credits include "All The Right Moves" starring Tom Cruise, "Stop The World I Want To Get Off," "Newhart," and "The Equalizer."  Price has been the host for the Tony Award's live Red Carpet webcasts since 2002 and has shared the stage in concert with legendary performers such as Tony Orlando, Tony Bennett, Lou Rawls and Galdys Knight.

Price fills the position vacated by Mr. Zimmerman, who was elected President by acclamation at the September Equity Council meeting. Her term of office will be through the conclusion of elections next spring.
