Pacific Playwrights Fest to Include Greenberg & Marguiles

Two new plays by Richard Greenberg and Donald Marguiles will premiere as part of South Coast Repertory's Pacific Playwrights Festival in Costa Mesa, CA from May 4th through 6th.

Greenberg received the Tony Award for his play, Take Me Out. South Coast Repertory commissioned and presented the World Premieres of Greenberg's A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, The Violet Hour, Everett Beekin, Hurrah at Last, Night and Her Stars, The Extra Man and Three Days of Rain, which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and was recently revived on Broadway. SCR has also produced his play The Dazzle. His other plays include Eastern Standard, Jenny Keeps Talking, The American Play and The Maderati.

Donald Margulies was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his play, Dinner with Friends, which received its West Coast Premiere at South Coast Repertory. SCR also commissioned and presented the World Premieres of Margulies' Collected Stories and Sight Unseen, both of which were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and Brooklyn Boy which went on to a Broadway run. His other plays include The Model Apartment, The Loman Family Picnic and What's Wrong With This Picture?.

The festival will, in addition to fully staged world premieres of My Wandering Boy by Julie Marie Wyatt and System Wonderland by David Wiener, include a workshop production and four staged readings.  More information will be announced at a later date.

The theatre is currently presenting Greg Kotis' Pig Farm through January 28th.
