PS CLASSICS will record the new, acclaimed London production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE on March 6th & 7th. The production, currently playing at The Menier Chocolate Factory, will be moving to Wyndham's Theatre in the West End in May, with previews beginning May 13th and opening night scheduled for May 23rd. PS Classics co-founder Tommy Krasker, who has overseen eight previous Sondheim cast albums, will produce the disc. PS Classics is distributed exclusively by Image Entertainment, whose releases include the DVD of the original Broadway production.

Olivier Award-winner Daniel Evans (for Merrily We Roll Along – Donmar Warehouse) will be joined by 2006 Olivier Award-nominee Jenna Russell (currently starring in the West End hit Guys and Dolls) on stage at Wyndham's Theatre. This new production of Sunday in the Park With George, directed by Sam Buntrock (who also directed the award-winning London revival of Assassins) and designed by David Farley with projection design by Timothy Bird, has won the 2006 Critics' Circle Drama Award for Best Design and also the Best Off-West End Production in this year's Theatregoer's Choice awards and has been nominated for Best Musical in the Time Out Live Awards.

In early January, The Menier Chocolate Factory announced that its highly acclaimed production of Sunday in the Park With George would extend its sell out run for three weeks until March 12th. All performances sold out in 48 hours. Audiences and critics have been unanimous in their praise of this production's design, which recreates the world of Seurat's masterpiece Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte with the use of ground-breaking projection and animation technology. The Menier Chocolate Factory production is presented in the West End by Broadway producer Boyett Ostar, David Babani & Danielle Tarento for Chocolate Factory Productions, Caro Newling for Neal Street Productions and Mark Rubinstein. This team has been supported by Cameron Mackintosh in his capacity as the new owner of Wyndham's Theatre.

The Menier Chocolate Factory has been praised for being a small venue, thinking big ideas and realizing them at the highest level. Since Sunday in the Park With George opened in November 2005, the venue has been awarded the Empty Space / Peter Brook Award and the Evening Standard Award for Outstanding Newcomer and has been nominated for a Time Out Live Award.

Founded in 2000 by Tommy Krasker and Philip Chaffin, PS Classics has been profiled in publications such as The New York Times for its diverse line of show albums, solo CDs and songbook recordings. To date, it has produced three Sondheim cast albums: The Frogs, Pacific Overtures, and its Grammy-nominated recording of Assassins. Other cast albums include Fiddler on the Roof, A Year With Frog and Toad, and First Lady Suite. Solo artists include Christine Andreas, Jessica Molaskey, and Rebecca Luker, while the composers highlighted range from Jerome Moross to Maury Yeston to Jason Robert Brown.
