Last night 80 caring members of the Broadway community, including Laura Osnes, Stephanie J. Block, Montego Glover, Rory O'Malley and Keala Settle, slept on the streets of New York City in support of homeless youth and raising over $233,000 for Covenant House.

Now in its fourth year, The Broadway Sleep Out is a one-night fundraising event, beginning with the young people of Covenant House meeting and speaking with the Broadway community at the crisis shelter at 460 W 41st Street. The Broadway Sleep Out participants then receive cardboard boxes, sleeping bags, and a piece of pavement for the night.

"With the recent violence here at home and abroad, I am energized to love as hard as I can," says Covenant House International Board Member, Broadway's Capathia Jenkins. "I'm honored to be a part of the Broadway community as we step up to this worthy cause with our hearts wide open for the fourth consecutive year. These extraordinary kids of Covenant House continue to feed my soul."

Jenkins was joined by performers, directors, technicians and behind-the-scenes professionals who are reached out to homeless young people in this inspiring, personal way. Some of the participants will be sleeping on the streets of New York City for the fourth time. Audra McDonald, a member of the Sleep Out Executive Committee, has participated in past years and only missed this time because of her pregnancy, though still contributing a full fundraising effort.

Naturally, participants filled their social media pages with photos of the event.
