Sunday, April 25, 2-5 pm - Auditions for both R.U.R. Rossum's Universal Robots and The Last Broadcast of Bailey and Long

RUR Description - This show is a new adaptation of Karel Capek's 1921 play that gave birth to modern sci-fi and introduced the word "robot" to the world's lexicon. At its island factory, Rossum's Universal Robots makes the best bio-mechanical robots for your every need. They're so good, they even look human! But when a beautiful young revolutionary arrives with notions of robot liberation, she is greeted by R.U.R.'s managers who assure her that robots are soulless and indifferent to humanity's cause. However, her idealistic views plant the seeds of a revolution that proves just how dangerously human robots can be. Adapted by Roy Thomas. Showdates are June 10 - 26, 2010.

Bailey and Long Description - It's 1947 and America's most popular syndicated radio show is ending. One of its stars, Jack Long, is moving on, about to get his own show on the new medium of television. The cast and crew of the show, including his trailblazing partner, writer/performer Carole Bailey, must make decisions about the future while trying to produce the best last broadcast ever aired. Written by Christie Walheim. Showdates are July 8 - August 14, 2010.
