Cush Jumbo, whose solo show JOSEPHINE AND I ran at New York's Public Theater last year, will star in George Bernard Shaw's SAINT JOAN, coming to the Donmar Warehouse this winter.

The Daily Mail writes that the production, directed by Josie Rourke, will run this December.

This will mark a Donmar return for Jumbo, who starred as 'Marc Antony' in Phyllida Lloyd's all-female JULIUS CAESAR (for which she received an Olivier nod); the show later transferred to St. Ann's Warehouse in New York City. She is set to appear in Lloyd's all-female staging of Shakespeare's TAMING OF THE SHREW in Central Park this summer.

Jumbo also starred opposite Hugh Jackman in THE RIVER on Broadway, and has recently appeared on TV in THE GOOD WIFE and VERA.

Based on the life and trial of Joan of Arc, SAINT JOAN premiered on Broadway in 1923, starring Winifred Lenihan. It opened the following year in London with Shaw's friend and muse Sybil Thorndike. The play was adapted for the big screen in 1957, starring Jean Seberg in the title role and directed by Otto Preminger.
