LF/S BROOKLYN, an innovative new art gallery in Williamsburg, brings artists and audiences together in an intimate new way. The brainchild of musician Lee Feldman and artist Steve Silver, the gallery presents invitation-only ArtParties, in Silver's 5,000 square foot home and studio. Crowhurst is an NEA Grant awardee for her work relating to Native American practices and beliefs. She lives in Florida where she raises and trains show horses and creates art. LF/S BROOKLYN will showcase a collection of Magic Wands and paintings in Crowhurst's first NYC exhibition since 1991.Steve Silver moved to Williamsburg in 1978, one of the vanguard of artists settling in the area. Inspired to paint on a trip through Peru, his work has been shown in exhibitions in Mexico, Germany, and Spain, as well as in galleries in NYC and throughout the US. Musician Lee Feldman moved to Williamsburg in the late-1980s and has enjoyed success as a singer/songwriter and pianist.
Feldman and Silver's unique partnership brings art to New Yorkers in a completely new way. Their ArtParties provide a relaxed space for both long-time gallery patrons and new viewers alike. She took her MFA at U. Mass, Amherst, and moved to Williamsburg in the mid seventies where she stayed for 8 years before transporting to Florida. Chris has received an NEA grant for her work relating to Native American Indian practices and beliefs. Besides painting, Chris has trained in classical dressage with the Spanish Riding School of Vienna for the last 15 years. She works with 3 horses, an Arabian, an Andalusian and a Lipizzan on her ranch in Weirsdale, Florida.
NOV 2013 STEVE SILVER On the way to Lima, hitchhiking, sitting on the top of a coal truck, Steve experienced an epiphany and decided to paint. He was first shown in NY by Ivan Karp at OK Harris and has since had exhibitions in Mexico, Germany, and Spain. His work has been seen at Kunstmarkt Dresden, Art Cologne, and Art Miami.JAN 2014 FRANCESC GUILLAMET Met was born in Figueres, Catalunya. Self taught, he is the author of 1846 photos, the entire ouvre of Ferran Adria of El Bulli Restaurant. He has taken gastronomic photography to an entirely new level and has worked with the greatest chefs in Spain producing more than 70 books. His most recent books are COMER ARTE and MAILLOL, a photographic anthology based on the work of the French Catalan artist Aristide Maillol. His work has been seen internationally in galleries and museums.
APRIL 2014 PABLO ORTIZ MONASTERIO Pablo studied at the London College of Printing, and took his Masters at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana. His photographs have been shown in museums and galleries in Mexico, the U.S., South America, and Europe. 10 books of his work have been published, including "La Ultima Ciudad," a definitive portrait of Mexico City. He is also the editor of more than 100 books of photography, most recently "Mexican Portraits," an anthology of historical importance.JUNE 2014 RUSSELL STEINERT Upon completing his studies at Brown and the Skowhegan School, Russell attended UC Berkeley where he was awarded an MFA in Painting. Soon after he began exhibiting at Gallery Paule Anglim in San Francisco. Since the mid 80's he's been living in Williamsburg with his family, where he runs various businesses in designer apparel and home products.
