New Films Set for Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens

High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have signed on to new and separate film projects, according to Variety.

Efron is set star in Richard Linklater's Me & Orson Welles, about the making of the Mercury Theater production of Julius Caesar. Stage and film stars Claire Danes, Ben Chaplin and Kelly Reilly will head the cast. Welles will be portrayed by Christian McKay, who previously starred as the legendary actor-director in the play Rosebud. Efron recently appeared in the film version of Hairspray and will be seen opposite Matthew Perry in Seventeen.

Hudgens will appear in Will, a new film by Camp helmer Todd Graff, about a pair of high school misfits who strike up a romance. Liam Aiken, Lisa Kudrow, and former Altar Boyz star Scott Porter are already cast, and David Bowie is in negotiations to join the film.
