Nessa Barrett Releases BAD GIRLS NEVER DIE, Joins THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Tour Aug 24
The track follows July single Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die from her upcoming Warner Records release.
Nessa Barrett has released 'Bad Girls Never Die,' a new track described as a dusky tribute to living life on the edge and the latest offering from her upcoming album, Tough Love, due September 25 on Warner Records.
Building on July single 'Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die,' her latest is a bleakly romantic ballad that reminds us, basically, to smoke 'em if you got 'em.
'Bad Girls Never Die' is a shimmering rallying cry for anyone who isn't afraid to live free and get dirty. With the irrepressible confidence of a star in her prime, Nessa sings of a beauty that'll never fade and a high that'll never come down. Over hazy electric guitar and soaring strings that feel as mysterious and grand as a James Bond theme, she dives headlong into danger, finding pleasure unabashed vice. 'I'll be young forever,' she sings. 'So I'll put on a show. I'm crazy but whatever. Yeah, that's just rock and roll.' It's a beautiful enticement to join her on the dark side.
This new single arrives as Nessa closes in on her arena dates opening the EU/UK leg and a healthy spate of U.S. dates of The Neighbourhood's The Wourld Tour. She first joins the band this coming Monday, August 24, at Stockholm's Avicii Arena and wraps up her run on December 4 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA.
Nessa announced Tough Love with 'Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die,' an outlaw lovers' anthem powered by mournful strings, urgent guitars, and driving drums. Praised by EUPHORIA and Kerrang!, who dug into the song's 'darkly romantic' storyline, the track is already starting to make waves with critics and fans alike.
This pair of new singles finds Nessa once again teaming with her go-to collaborators, CJ Baran and Arthur Besna — the same tight-knit crew behind her acclaimed spring EP, Jesus loves a primadonna. A hypnotic mix of noirish rock, trip-hop textures, and haunting vocals, that set launched a trio of enthralling singles: 'High On Heaven,' which likens love to a powerful drug; the jarringly vulnerable 'Stay With Me'; and the eerie filmic fantasy 'Buffalo 66,' which arrived alongside a music video starring The Neighbourhood's Jesse Rutherford.
After being named to Billboard's '21 Under 21' list twice, collaborating with the likes of Whethan, and duetting her own song 'american jesus' with Lana Del Rey on stage, Nessa has amassed nearly 3 billion global streams and over 27 million followers across social platforms. 'Bad Girls Never Die' proves she still has more sides of herself to show in the lead up to what may very well be her deepest, darkest, and most truthful work yet.
