Music Director Mort Lindsey Passes Away at 89

According to the New York Times, orchestrator, composer, pianist, conductor and musical director Mort Lindsey passed away from complications from a broken hip on May 4. He was 89 years old. Lindsey is survived by sons Trevor and David, daughters Bonney Dunn, Deborah Morris and Judy Grant, and sister Janet.

Lindsey worked with such famed artists as Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Pat Boone, and Merv Griffin. Lindsey was a composer of motion picture scores including I Could Go On Singing, The Best Man, Real Life, Stolen Hours, and Gay Purr-ee. He won an Emmy Award for Barbra Streisand in Central Park.
