Prolific Muralists, Chor Boogie and Jet Martinez will unveil their most recent works today, November 7, 2014 as part of 111 Minna Gallery's latest exhibition, "Balance". Featuring an astounding opening reception that showcases a live, avant-garde, burlesque performance by Bast, Leila Bizzani & Lady Eternal Love, it promises to be an intriguing, colorful and mesmerizing event in the heart of San Francisco's art district.

Entranced by the works of both Boogie and Martinez after viewing their murals at San Francisco's infamous Clarion Alley Mural Project, 111 Mina Gallery Curator, Micah LeBrun composed "Balance" as a showcase of the artists' stunning use of color and to demonstrate the depth of their techniques. Notorious as the gallery to exhibit underground, edgy and often-times controversial works, 111 Minna has maintained a twenty year reputation for constant progression and positive energy making it a cornerstone of San Francisco culture.

"Balance" not only will offer a hypnotic journey into the works of two internationally praised visionaries, but will kick this captivating event off with a spellbinding and live reception performance co-created by visual and performing artist, Bast. Teamed with Chor Boogie, Leila Bizzani & Lady Eternal Love, Bast will present a riveting avant-garde burlesque performance. Opulent, surreal and gripping, this performance features elements by Volk Designs and is sure to enrapture the viewer as the barrier between artist and audience dissolves.

An artist driven by a unique creative passion and inspired by both renaissance and modern spray paint legends alike, Chor Boogie is a pioneer and a true original. Known for producing vibrant and distinct pieces, Chor's intentional use of color and technique are truly exceptional and widely recognized for invoking raw emotion and intensity. His works have often been described as having healing effects by his unique and unmatched use of color, which brings greater meaning and understanding to his works and leaves no question as to why he is counted among the top urban artists in the world.

A full-time muralist and painter, Jet Martinez's work has been featured in the New York Times as well as other well-respected publications and books. Serving as one of the directors of the Clarion Alley Mural Project in San Francisco's Mission District for over ten years, his murals grace many walls on public streets throughout the United States and the world, and he is soon to create a public piece for San Francisco General Hospital's new emergency department. In addition, Martinez's striking, bold and amazing works have been exhibited in prestigious art institution and galleries including Syracuse University, Facebook HQ, MACLA (Museo de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana), Mesa Center for the Arts, SomArts, SF Arts Commission Gallery and many more.

The works of Chor Boogie and Jet Martinez will be on exhibit at 111 Minna Gallery Starting November 7, 2014 with opening reception from 5pm to late. The exhibit will run through January 3, 2015. For more information about the upcoming exhibit, visit www.111minnagallery.com.
