Morehouse and Boynton Speak About Broadway and Grand Hotels

Ward Morehouse III - American author, playwright, and newspaperman, known particularly for his books on the grand hotels of New York City and London and celebrated for his acute acumen of the American theater - will speak at the University of Georgia's Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library, 300 South Hull Street, in Athens, GA on Wednesday, February 21 at 5;30 p.m.

His topic: his late father, legendary theater columnist, playwright and critic, Ward Morehouse, and Rebecca Franklin Morehouse, whose writings are featured in the University Libraries collection. Mr. Morehouse will discuss how his writing has been inspired by both of them.

Joining him will be his wife, actress/writer Katherine Boynton, who worked extensively with the Drama Desk Award-winning Godlight Theatre Company and co-authored (with her husband) the book, London's Greatest Grand Hotels, among others. She will be speaking about her upcoming children's book which was inspired by Ward Morehouse's article in Colliers Magazine regarding a pet bear from Bangkok.

The couple will regale their audience with stories of old Broadway and some of the world's finest hotels.

Morehouse is a former Broadway columnist for the New York Post and Reuters - and current theater columnist for The Christian Science Monitor Weekly
