Thewrap.com reports today that Mike Nichols, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges may be teaming up on the film, Great Hope Springs. Deals are reportedly close to being signed, according to the report.

The script is penned by Vanessa Taylor (HBO's "Tell Me You Love Me"), and centers on a couple undergoing counseling in an effort to save their 30-year marriage.

While some early reports suggested that Jessie Nelson ("I Am Sam") was to direct, TheWrap reveals that the job may in fact wind up in the lap of Mike Nichols.  This would not be the first collaboration for Streep and Nichols.  The pair has previously teamed up on Silkwood, Heartburn, Postcards from the Edge, Angels in America, and The Seagull.

The film is being produced by Escape Artists' Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch, alongside Guymon Casady of Management 360. Chris Coggins and Lance Johnson are listed as co-producers.
