At the Rose Theater on June 4-7, will be the U.S. premiere of Michael Clark's extraordinary Stravinsky Project.
The Michael Clark Company, led by its maverick choreographer, brings the Great Performers Spring Season to a close with a celebration of Igor Stravinsky's profound genius and groundbreaking scores, as well as the U.S. premiere of Clark's OO, set to music by Iggy Pop, Wire, Stephen Sondheim, and the Sex Pistols.
Clark's trilogy of Stravinsky-inspired works, O, set to the composer's Apollo, Mmm..., set to The Rite of Spring, and I Do, set to Les Noces, performed to live music, expands the choreographic vocabulary and pushes the boundaries of dance."Musically, it's an extraordinary event, but choreographically it's another landmark," says The Guardian of London about Clark's Stravinsky Project. These programs include nudity.
