Sunday at the Met Discussion -- Alexander McQueen: Art, Beauty, and the Unique Body
When: Sunday, June 19, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

What: Athlete, actor, and model Aimee Mullins and Harold Koda, Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, discuss art, fashion, and the unique body as an object of beauty. Ms. Mullins, who had both of her legs amputated below the knee as a child, is an advocate for women, sports, and the next generation of prosthetics. She modeled in Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 1999 fashion show, No. 13, wearing hand-carved wooden prostheses designed by McQueen. The discussion is presented in conjunction with The Costume Institute exhibition Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty , on view through August 7.
