Mayumana's Be Ends Off-Bway 7/1; International Tour Next

The acclaimed performance troupe Mayumana (my-'YOO-muh-nuh) will play the final performance of its newest stage spectacle Be at Off-Broadway's Union Square Theatre (100 E. 17th St.) on Sunday, July 1, 2007, prior to re-embarking on an international tour.
 
At the end of its U.S. premiere engagement, Mayumana's Be will have played 16 previews and 124 regular performances. Be began previews on Friday, February 23 and officially opened on Tuesday, March 13.
 
Mayumana resumes its international tour on August 6, 2007, with engagements as follows:

Throughout the past decade, more than four million people have experienced a Mayumana show, and to date, the Mayumana company has performed more than 5,000 shows in more than 30 countries across the globe. 
 
"Conceived by Eylon Nuphar and Boaz Berman in Tel Aviv in 1996, Mayumana (from the Hebrew meaning skill) is a purely theatrical event that combines elements from various art disciplines based on music, movement, acting, dance and rhythm.  An ever-evolving performance piece, Mayumana has gone through constant re-creation in its ten-year history, giving focus to the individual talents of its evolving roster of cast members, who come to the show from all parts of the globe," state press materials.
 
Conceived and directed by founders Eylon Nuphar and Boaz Berman, the multinational Off-Broadway cast of Mayumana's Be includes co-creator Boaz Berman, Sharon Ben Naim (Israel), Vicente de Andres (Madrid), Maria Platon Corchado (Spain), Michael Feigenbaum (Switzerland), Alba Bonal Garcia (Barcelona), Silvia Garcia de Ves (Palma de Mallorca), Ido Kagan (Israel), Yael Mahler (Israel), Eva Boucherite Martin (Spain), Reut Rotem (Israel), Ido Stadler (Israel), Aka Jean Claude Thiemele (Ivory Coast) and Hila Yaffe (Israel).
 
The production features scenic design by Nizan Refaeli, costume design by Neta Haker, lighting design by Eyal Tavori and Roy Milo, and sound design by Amir Schorr.  
 
Be is presented Off-Broadway by Marc Routh, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, Roy Ofer for Mayumana Ltd., Annette Niemtzow and Pamela Cooper.
 
The regular performance schedule for Mayumana's Be is Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., with Wednesday matinees at 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.  There are no performances on Thursday, June 14 or Tuesday, June 19.  Tickets are scaled at $20 -$60 and are now available by calling 212-505-0700, or through Ticketmaster.com at 212-307-4100. Tickets are also available in-person at the Union Square Theatre Box Office. Regular Box Office hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Box Office is closed on Mondays.
