Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' global hit musical Mamma Mia! will celebrate five years on Broadway on Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre with all proceeds to benefit  the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actors' Fund of America, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals - both performers and those behind the scenes - in performing arts and entertainment.

There are currently 11 productions of Mamma Mia! running around the world (9 resident productions and 2 tours). With three productions playing in North America alone, the show has more productions playing around the world than any other current Broadway musical and can be experienced in six different languages globally.
 
Mamma Mia! is produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Bjorn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal.  It features music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, a book by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. The musical has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Broadway's Mamma Mia! currently stars Leah Hocking, Judy McLane, Olga Merediz and John Dossett, among others.

The Actors' Fund of America is a nonprofit, national human services organization that helps entertainment and performing arts professionals in theater, film, music, opera, television and dance . Assisting performers as well as those who work behind the scenes, its broad spectrum of programs include comprehensive social services, health services, supportive and affordable housing, employment and training services, and skilled nursing and assisted living care. The Fund also makes emergenCy Grants for essential needs. Administered from offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, The Actors' Fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition.
