The League of American Theatres and Producers will honor the U.S. Tour of MAMMA MIA! with the 2005 "Touring Broadway Award" tonight (formerly the National Broadway Theatre Award) for Best Long Running Musical. The Awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in New York.

The Touring Broadway Awards, established in 2001, are the first national awards to recognize touring Broadway productions. League members chose winners eligible League productions in each of their Broadway Series and submit for national vote tabulation.

To date, the U.S tours of MAMMA MIA! have played over 2,846 performances, generating an accumulated box office gross of over $330 million in 81 cities (with 35 repeat visits). The U.S. tour is currently booked through April 2007.

MAMMA MIA! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

MAMMA MIA! is produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal.
