Manhattan Theatre Club Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and Executive Producer Barry Grove announced that their 2007 Spring Gala raised over $1.3 million.

The star-studded show on Monday, May 7, was hosted by Emmy Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Allison Janney and included a special appearance by Hal Prince.  The show included numbers from this season's best musicals, including the cast of A Chorus Line performing "One," Raul Esparza singing "Marry Me A Little" from Company, Donna Murphy singing "Surabaya Johnny" and Michael Cerveris singing "It Never Was You" from MTC's LoveMusik, the cast of "Legally Blonde" performing "Bend And Snap," the cast of In The Heights performing "In The Heights" and members of the cast of Spring Awakening singing "The Bitch Of Living."

Proceeds from this event will support MTC's leading work in the development of new plays and musicals, as well as its renowned Education Program.

The auction alone raised $78,000.  A walk-on role in the film version of Doubt went for $13,000, VIP tickets to Fashion Week went for $3,000, and people won getaways to Deer Valley, Utah, the Dominican Republic and the exclusive members-only Skibo Castle in Scotland.

The co-chairs of the event were David C. Hodgson, General Atlantic LLC, and Jeffrey A. Sine, UBS Investment Bank. Vice-chairs were Scott M. Delman, Joseph H. Gleberman, Goldman, Sachs and Co., Matthew McKenna, Pepsi Co., and Susan and Peter J. Solomon.
