MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL Cancels Sunday Performances

After announcing the cancellation of performances of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway beginning on Thursday night, the production has just announced that its Sunday performances will be canceled as well.

The show notes "Out of an abundance of caution, today's performances of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway have been cancelled due to the detection of positive COVID test results in the company.

Performances are expected to resume on Tuesday, December 21 at 7:00 PM. Ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase."

The show's Thursday and Friday night performances were canceled after the detection of positive Covid-19 test results within the company.

At the time, the production said in a statement, "While there are no new positive COVID test results in the company, out of an abundance of caution and on the advice of the production's epidemiologist both performances of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Saturday, December 18th have been cancelled. Performances are expected to resume on Sunday, December 19th at 1:30 PM. Ticket holders for tomorrow's performances will be contacted by their point of purchase."

Released by 20th Century Fox, Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. At the 74th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, and won two.
