MOCA Receives $91,000 State Grant
The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA), has been awarded a Cultural and Museum Grant for General Program Support (GPS) from the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs. This grant will help fund activities taking place at MOCA from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
The total amount the museum will receive is $91,731. The grant supports museum activities which include exhibitions, educational and public programs.
"The museum is a place where members of the community and abroad can experience cutting edge contemporary art," MOCA's Interim Director Natasha Colebrook-Williams said. "This is a testament that state officials understand the benefit of MOCA and recognizes the importance of investing in the programs we offer."
The GPS grant is designed to fund the general program activities of an organization that is achieving its stated mission and furthering the state's cultural objectives. Not-for-profit cultural organizations, museums, and recurring cultural programs that meet the basic eligibility requirements can apply for the grant. The organization's mission must directly support arts and cultural programming.
