London, June 24, 2013--According to an open audition notice posted last Thursday, June 20, on The Stage, Cameron Mackintosh, who recently announced that a new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's legendary musical "Miss Saigon" is set to open at Prince Edward Theatre in May 2014, is also holding auditions for East and Southeast Asian actors, singers and dancers on Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2.

Rehearsals will begin early Spring next year.

Casting call details as follow:

>East Asian/Southeast Asian actors, singers and dancers

All applicants must have excellent vocal and dance abilities.

Successful applicants must be available to start rehearsals in early Spring 2014--for a one-year contract.

Artists must have a valid UK/EU passport or already have a full working visa for the UK during the entirety of the contract.

Set in 1975 during the final days of the American occupation of Saigon, "Miss Saigon" is an epic love story between Chris, an American G.I., and Kim, a young Vietnamese bargirl.

Since its London premiere in 1989, Mackintosh's production of "Miss Saigon," which originally starred Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga as Kim, has become one of the most successful musicals in history, and enjoyed a phenomenal 10-year run at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The mega-musical has been performed in 28 countries and in more than 300 cities in 15 different languages. It has won more than 40 awards, including two Olivier Awards, three Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards; it has been seen by more than 35 million people worldwide.
