Linda Lavin to Perform at Upper East Side Barnes & Noble, 1/18

Tony and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Linda Lavin will celebrate the release of her debut album "Possibilities" on Ghostlight Records with a performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble on 86th St & Lexington Avenue in NYC on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 6pm. She will be supported by a trio of musicians, including Billy Stritch on piano, Steve Doyle on bass & Steve Bakunas on drums.

Featuring an eclectic mix of Broadway standards and cabaret songs, Lavin's new recording features musical direction, arrangements and piano by Stritch. "These are songs that I grew up with and songs that I've sung in my nightclub act over the years," Lavin says of the album. "They are songs that mean a lot to me in terms of telling the story of who I am." The album is currently available wherever music is sold.

"Possibilities" was produced by John Brown and recorded at Overdub Lane in Durham, North Carolina. In addition to Stritch on Piano and Vocals (on "Corcovado") and album producer John Brown on Bass, the recording also features Steve Bakunas on Drums, Ray Codrington on Horns and Baron Tymas on Guitar. It was engineered by John Plymale.
