Lehmann Maupin is pleased to be participating in Art | 41| Basel | 16-20 June, 2010. Please visit them in hall 2.1, booth J8, where they will be exhibiting work by Hernan Bas, Ashley Bickerton, Lee Bul, Tracey Emin, Shirazeh Houshiary, Teresita Fernández, Do Ho Suh, Mickalene Thomas, and Nari Ward.
Specific works include Mickalene Thomas' 'Landscape Majestic,' 2010 (rhinestone, acrylic and enamel on panel); Do Ho Suh's 'Karma,' 2010 (bronze and stone base); Nari Ward's 'Third World Bank 6 X 6,' 2010 (vinyl banner, stencil ink, felt weather seal, shoe tips, shoe laces, cowrie shells, palm-fiber thatch); and Tracey Emin's You made ME LOVE You, 2010 (rose pink neon).
Since opening in October 1996, Lehmann Maupin has organized and curated exhibitions for an array of international contemporary artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, video and new media from all over the world. These exhibitions examine the work of both emerging and well-established artists whose work impacts contemporary art and culture.The gallery has given important artists their first one-person exhibitions in New York including Tracey Emin, Anya Gallaccio, Shirazeh Houshiary, Do Ho Suh, Juergen Teller, and Adriana Varejão. In addition, the gallery has exposed emerging talents, such as Mickalene Thomas, Hernan Bas, Suling Wang and the Japanese artist Mr., through exhibitions at the gallery and participations in select art fairs. Our program includes important artists such as Lee Bul, Ashley Bickerton, Gilbert & George, Teresita Fernandez, Tony Oursler, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., Nari Ward, and Erwin Wurm.
