Larry Kramer Complains About Tony Awards Treatment

Last night's Tony Awards was a time of celebration for the Broadway community, and while honoree Larry Kramer recieved the Isabelle Stevenson Award, he wasn't celebrating during his time spent backstge. Michael Musto wrote in OUT that upon seeing Kramer backstage he told him: "They kept shunting me around. I was supposed to be on in the first segment, but everybody spoke too long, so they kept putting me off. I had to go on during a commercial break. They promised me they'd show a clip on network, but I don't think what they showed was very long."

The 2013 Tony Awards were broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, on CBS, last night, Sunday, June 9th. The Awards were presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
